In 2021, research found that 30,177 active duty personnel and veterans who served in the military after 9/11 have died by suicide - compared to the 7,057 service members killed in combat in those same 20 years. Military suicide rates are four times higher than deaths that occurred during military operations. More of our soldiers are dying from suicide than in the line of duty.

Charlie Mike was created by modern combat veterans who know the realities of war and the realities of returning to civilian life.
The mission of Charlie Mike is to save the lives of those still carrying the unseen wounds of combat, one veteran at a time.
Stop Soldier Suicide is the only national nonprofit focused solely on solving the issue of suicide among U.S. veterans and service members. We have an aggressive goal to reduce the military suicide rate by 40% no later than 2030.

The realities of veteran suicide are shocking. Through Face the Fight, we’re working to break the stigma surrounding suicide in the military community by raising awareness and fostering real, open conversations around support and hope.
